The Bronx hip hop scene emerged in the mid-1970s from neighborhood block parties. Through the cracks in the sidewalk of the addled South Bronx grew hip-hop, the flower of the concrete jungle. This inspired Lauren Rose to bring this hat as an ode to Hip Hop and Bronx culture.
The hat has a banda attached to the back and is printed under the flat brim. "I keep a bandana like 2Pac. Bandanas and guns like I'm Rambo" 2Pac was a Style King and one of the best mc's he wore often a bandana.
Lauren integrated the bandana in the "Bronx hip-hop hat" this is her biggest proponent of the throwback. There are different famous street styles dancers who rocked this hat while jerkin', twerkin', or krumping in the urban hip-hop dance scene.
